ALDIS 2.0

Ensures reliable identification and localization of goods and vehicles.
Connects identity and location to enable smart tracking of industrial transport through automated load detection.

General description

Reliable identification and tracking of products and production equipment is essential for ensuring error-free production processes. As logistics operations grow increasingly complex, transparency becomes a critical factor in boosting both efficiency and productivity. The key is a system for the automatic detection and identification of loading and unloading processes of industrial vehicles in logistics.

The Automated Load Detect Ident System bridges the gap between "Who am I?"– the reliable iden-tification of products and equipment – and "Where am I?" – the precise localization of industrial trucks and load carriers.

The system detects the load with distance sensors and identifies it with technologies such as RFID, 1D, or 2D codes. It also determines the position of the truck and thus the load by using technologies such as UWB, GPS RTK or LiDAR-LOC.

The pre-processed information is transmitted wirelessly from the gateway system TDC-X to Cori-vaHub and Location Management, which link the data with the real-time position of the vehicle, or to the customer's own software infrastructure.

The system is also compatible with sensor and location data provided by third party, offering maxi-mum flexibility and integration into existing infrastructures.

By combining these various technologies, it is possible to know at all time where the material, the load carriers and the vehicles are currently or where previously located.

Requirements for Installation and Commissioning

The method of mounting depends on the industrial truck used and the requirements of the appli-cation.

Prerequisites:
    •    Fixed mounting of the components on the vehicle
    •    Unobstructed view of the identification sensors on the fork and load
    •    Use of brackets with shock absorbers wherever possible or applicable
    •    Protection of all components against mechanical damage
    •    Protection of cables against impact and shear forces

Technical requirements:
    •    Stable WiFi or 4G connectivity between TDC-X controller and SICK's or the customer's IT in-frastructure
    •    The identification system(s) and the TDC-X controller must be connected to a 24 VDC con-stant power supply
    •    The identification system(s) and the TDC-X will be connected by Ethernet with the provided cables
    •    The detection sensor must be configured in a way that it is able to detect the load reliably
    •    The identification system must be configured in a way that it is able to identify the load relia-bly

Benefits

    •    Ensures reliable identification and tracking of products and equipment.
    •    Supports error-free production processes.
    •    Increases transparency in complex logistics operations.
    •    Boosts efficiency and productivity.
    •    Automatically detects and identifies loading/unloading processes.
    •    Combines load detection with precise vehicle localization.
    •    Uses advanced technologies like RFID, 1D/2D codes, UWB, GPS RTK, and LiDAR-LOC.
    •    Transmits pre-processed data wirelessly to central systems or customer infrastructure.
    •    Integrates easily with third-party sensor and location data.
    •    Provides continuous visibility of materials, load carriers, and vehicles.
